Denim Days

Hey lovelies, hope you're all good.
Now I'm yet to hear anyone say they don't own a pair of jeans, and if you know someone like that I would love to meet them. However there are many ladies who own jeans, but will never venture to wear them. 9/10 times it's because they hate the fitting of  them. With jeans being so universal they are definitely a staple in our wardrobe in this day and age, maybe not so in the 50's. As the third of the four part staples series this post won't really show you how to wear jeans, because how does one wear jeans? This post will just give you some tips on jeans and body shapes, there may be some tips on how to wear them let's see.

Hourglass
Problem area whilst shopping : small waist

As an hourglass you will often find when shopping for jeans that it is too big on your waist but fits perfectly everywhere else, this is not a major crisis as the waist line can be altered at your local dry cleaners but it can be annoying. The best option for this figure would be a mid rise pair of jeans. These jeans sit midway below the stomach and rest perfectly on your hips and derrière. With this figure you have a range of options to go by, from skinny jeans to, high waisted, bootleg jeans or straight jeans. Pay attention to the wash of the jeans, as light washes will accentuate while dark w ashes will streamline you. Here are some jeans below that would suit the hourglass figure.

Pear
Problem area whilst shopping : balance

Being bottom heavy means, darker wash jeans are your best friends. These will slim your hips, derrière and thighs taking away unnecessary attention. It would be best to go for indigo wash jeans
and darker as these will streamline your legs making them slimmer. Bootleg jeans on a pear shape are so flattering as they do exactly what you want balance, as the flare at the bottom takes your hips out
of the focus. You can wear skinny/straight legs jeans but when you do be sure to opt for a  darker
wash. Stay away from large pockets or jeans with too much detail as these will only draw attention to the very area you are trying to balance out.

Apple
Problem area whilst shopping : Full stomach

For an apple shape the perfect jeans for you are boot cut jeans. They are beautifully slimming as they skim your legs making you appear taller. When worn with a tunic that has a great waistline/amazing jacket they have a great way of bringing you in at the waist. If you sometimes find it hard to get jeans to fit around your stomach area then you can opt for support jeans which are made with soft elastic
waistband to provide extra comfort and bring you in at the waist. We mustn't forget one of your greatest assets your legs right? This means that you can also wear straight jeans as these are very flattering on you but endeavour to wear them with a longer top and create a waistline using jackets or jewellery then add heels to lengthen your legs.

Straight/Slender
Problem area whilst shopping : Create curves

As a lady with this figure you often have the privilege of slender legs, therefore skinny jeans including coloured ones and your legs are best friends, you can't go wrong with them. Straight leg jeans are also another option to go for, and lastly to create more volume with your outfit flared jeans go very nicely if you have long slender legs.

Jeans are so Universal and diverse, they can be worn casually and dressed up too. Wear them how you like, most of all feel comfortable in them. Don't be afraid to throw on a pair of heels to instantly jazz up an otherwise casual outfit. Let's just say when it comes to jeans the world is your oyster. Please bare in mind that the jeans posted are just examples and guidelines to help you when shopping.

Jennifer Love Hewitt's quote says it all
"I love that whole princess mentality, but I also like throwing my hair in a ponytail and just wearing jeans, going on a hike and then eating a big chilli- cheeseburger" (not that I've ever done that but you get the idea)
